Travel insurance is mandatory
Helicopter evacuation in Nepal costs USD 5,000โ€“15,000. We require proof of insurance covering trekking up to your trek's max altitude before departure.

Safety questions, answered

How do you handle altitude sickness?

Conservative acclimatisation schedule, daily health checks, and a guide trained in AMS recognition. We descend at the first sign of serious symptoms.

What if there's a medical emergency?

Every guide carries a first-aid kit and satellite phone. We arrange helicopter evacuation when needed โ€” confirm your insurance covers it.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes โ€” it must cover trekking to your trek's maximum altitude plus emergency evacuation.

What we recommend you bring

We'll send a full packing list 4 weeks before departure

Custom to your route + season. Includes shop links for Kathmandu rental + buy options if you'd rather not fly with everything. Most trekkers spend USD 200โ€“400 on gear in Thamel before departure.

What altitude is dangerous?+
Above 2,500m, anyone can get altitude sickness regardless of fitness. We monitor symptoms daily and have aggressive descent protocols.
Do we sleep in tents?+
On classic routes โ€” Everest, Annapurna, Langtang โ€” you sleep in tea-houses or lodges. Expedition routes are tented camps.
Can I trek if I have asthma / diabetes?+
Often yes, with a doctor's letter and medication plan. We ask for a medical form 8 weeks before โ€” happy to advise before you book.
What if I can't keep up?+
Our guides match the pace of the slowest trekker. If someone needs to descend early, an assistant guide goes with them.
